All About Hargrove General Goods

A few years ago my family decided to clean up our household and skincare products. During that time my husband started using popular men's cold process soap. When I realized the cost of those bars I decided to try to learn to make soap. I ordered all the ingredients, watched all the videos. Then the ingredients sat in a box, for months.

One day my children made new friends at the playground. I decided to chat with the parents on the way to the bathroom. That day I learned that the mother made soap as a hobby. I immediately asked for their number. The next week we had a playdate, she taught me to make soap while the kids played. It took me three soaping sessions to really get comfortable making soap on my own.

At around the same time, my best friend and her family began experiencing horrible skin issues and were diagnosed with salicylate intolerance. Salicylate intolerance means they cannot use coconut oil at all and no fragrance. This set me on a path to start making fragrance free soaps that are allergy friendly. Not all of my soaps are Coconut free but I will always have coconut free soaps in my lines.

Its been 3 years now of making soaps that meet my exacting standards for quality in oils and colors and scents. All of the colors are naturally derived from clays and botanicals, many from my own garden. For the soaps with scents, I use only essential oils that are therapeutic grade. They are skin friendly and gentle for most people.

I really enjoy playing with different scents, colors and designs and as such every soap batch I make is limited release. When they are gone they are gone.
